Jackson, WY 2021

Julie from Tyler, Texas. Big denim gal.

I tried on my first pair of true vintage jeans in 2010 in Austin, TX. My first pair are positioned in the middle below. They were buttery soft — a little too snug in the hips, butt, and thighs — with notable wear and tear. They were perfect. I felt good and loved my body in them. An entirely new relationship for me and the beginning of my very own love story, inspired by A Denim Story: Inspirations of Bellbottoms and Boyfriends.

I’ve collected quality, second-hand denim from coast to coast over the last 10 years. jw.denim was brought to life in 2021 with a little help from my friends in Jackson, Wyoming. As I acquire new skills in design and construction, I hope to produce more and more custom, one of a kind pieces.

I love patchwork the most — it crosses lines, boundaries, and each peice of fabric doesn’t have to be the same size, shape, or color to work together and make a beautiful garment.

I’m elevated when I talk about denim and there’s magic in the air every single time a customer see’s themself in the perfect piece.
